House to House - Heart to Heart
The Spring Creek church began an extensive new mission work in 2002. We started mailing a six-page bi-monthly paper called House To House/Heart To Heart. We have found this to be an exciting opportunity to reach out to those who are not members of the Lord’s church. Jesus commanded us to “Go...” (Mark 16:15), and we believe that includes the houses across the street as well as those across the ocean. In fact, we really feel more responsibility to reach our own neighborhood than those miles away.

Did you know?
• Authorities say that “going to the mailbox” is “the most looked forward to event of the day” for many people.
• The average household receives less than three pieces of mail per day (per week: first class, 7.6; second class, 2.1; third class, 3.3; non-profit, 1.1).
• Eight to twelve contacts are required before the “unchurched” person becomes receptive to attending for the first time. One shot mailings are long shots; multiple mailings produce more results. (This effort, then, should become more effective after the second year.) In another survey, done by the National Sales Executive Club, results showed that it took repeated face-to-face sales calls to make the sale:
2% of sales are made on the first call.
3% of sales are made on the second call.
3.5% of sales are made on the third call.
10% of sales are made on the fourth call.
81% of sales are made on subsequent calls.
How many are we reaching?
HTH/HTH is mailed to every house in the Boaz and Symsonia mail routes, and box holders (about 2200 families).
Isn’t it expensive?
It is according to how you look at it. We can go into each home six times a year for fifteen cents per issue! (That’s printing, postage, everything). The total cost for each issue of HTH/HTH is $230.00.
How can I help?
• Please pray often that the HTH/HTH will do much good and no harm.
• Say a good word about the paper to you neighbors, friends, co-workers, and acquaintance. Ask them if they receive it. It is a good place to start a religious conversation.
• Contribute extra. If we had additional funds we could cover additional postal routes near Dogwood. Or dream is for every family in Graves County to get HTH/HTH.
• Distribute extra copies. We keep extra copies on hand to be used in hospital waiting room, doctor’s/dentist’s offices, dorm lobbies, and other places where people might pick them up.
“...and he that winneth souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30).
